The PST import process is a fairly simple process but a completely different process then when importing data from a CSV file. If attention isn’t paid to the available options at the time the import is performed, a lot of surprises can result to the point of it appearing that the process didn’t work at all.
Before starting the PST import process, it’s advisable to pre-select the destination folder where things will be imported to. In fact, if you are not importing to the root of a data file, selecting the target folder is mandatory in order to import correctly. If you only want to import the data from one specific folder in the source PST file, you may consider an alternative to the import process – see “Move/Copy Folders/Items – A PST alternative”.
